STONE CARVING TUITION
I am able to offer teaching by arrangement. Usually this involves two people working alongside one another. This works well for beginners as it offers a high level of instruction but in an informal and friendly environment at the workshop in Brighton (see below).
Evening and weekend classes are offered and can be arranged to personal requirements. Courses usually run for 6-10 weeks for two hours at a time in the evenings. Half day courses at weekends are also available.
Courses are suitable for complete beginners as well as advanced and intermediate students and cover:
* tools and materials
* safety
* carving techniques
* making a maquette
* ideas and resources
* drawing and planning.
Tools are provided initially although students can purchase stone and tools throughout the courses.
Students will have plenty of one to one teaching and should pick up skills and be able to produce a finished piece of work within the 6-10 week block.
